Burg Budget

An Independent Accounting of City Hall

Overlay Surplus

Remember the money the city sets aside every year in case people win property tax appeals? Once a given year's appeals are settled, whatever's left over in that account gets freed up, and this is that leftover money.

This stayed exactly flat this year at $700,000, same as FY2025. Put another way: back in FY2017 this made up about 29.5% of Other Revenue Sources - today it's 8.7%, a smaller slice than before.

Computed from each fiscal year's own revenue recap figures below - see Methodology.
